What advice would you give to your younger self?
This is a really hard one because I believe that it took every single step I’ve taken on in order to be who I am now.
I also know that given the resources I had when I was young, I was doing my best.
So it’s very hard to say one thing such as ‘work on your mindset’ as I would have shrugged that off and not known HOW to work on my mindset.
The internet has moved on A LOT in the last ten to twenty years in terms of the info and resources available. If I could say one thing to myself it would be this:
“If you are already enough, if you are already worthy, what would you do next?”
I think this question would have helped me release the ‘shoulds’ and let go of my passion for people pleasing and not trusting my inner knowing. I guess I just didn’t love myself.
I worked in marketing because I thought I ‘should’
I worked full time in jobs I hated because I thought I ‘should’
I ticked all the boxes because I thought I ‘should’
I studied things I thought I ‘should’
I pretty much never thought I was ok just as I was. I thought had to change and be moulded in order to be a good person.
I want my kids to feel enough and this is one of the reasons I do what I do.
If I can create a business built around my natural strengths then so can they.
If I can learn how to release the ‘shoulds’ and follow my heart I can inspire them to do the same.
What would you say to yourself if you could go back in time?
